This guidance document addresses the overarching recommendations for the provision of data and information to be provided in a submission package to supporth the effectiveness assessment of feed ingredients, under the proposed conditions of use.

This guidance document should be used in combination with specific guidance documents, relevant for the specific objective of the feed ingredients under assessment, i.e. the guidance document on

• technical effect for evaluating the effect of the feed ingredient on the quality of feed,
• nutritional effect for assessing the provision of nutrients by the feed ingredient,
• effect on animal for evaluating the effect of the feed ingredient on animal production,
• effect on products of animal origin for assessing the effect of the feed ingredient on the quality of animal-sourced food.
